Vaarnii - 001 Bar Stool
The 001 Bar Stool by Fredrik Paulsen is simple, immediate, and robust. Yet, despite its weight, it is designed with comfort in mind and is ideal for long, relaxed dinners.
Paulsen's work is characterized by a raw aesthetic and a love for pine, which he describes as "psychedelic" due to its vibrant grain.
According to Paulsen, the material is best showcased on large surfaces.
The bar stool is available in 2 sizes – 65 cm and 76 cm (from floor to seat) and is manufactured in Finland from Finnish pine.
A characteristic of pine is that it becomes more beautiful with age. The colors mature and gain a deeper glow. Heartwood and sapwood age at different rates, highlighting the wood's natural grain patterns. After a few years, the pine in each chair will develop a rich and complex honey-colored tone.
Pine is a soft wood and will acquire marks and dents over time. But do not see them as flaws – embrace them. They are signs of life and of furniture that has been used and loved. Pine is not life-proof. It is proof of life.
