Coffee table book - Japanism
Japan – seen from the outside, with a new perspective.
In Japanism, photographer Yuto Yamada, who lives in Germany, takes us through Japan's 47 prefectures - from the iconic cherry blossoms, shrines and snowy landscapes to neon lights, futuristic urban spaces and everyday scenes from contemporary Japan.
Through Yuto's dynamic compositions and colorful photographs, even familiar places like Mt. Fuji and the streets of Tokyo are experienced anew - almost dreamlike, yet completely real. The book shows both traditional and modern Japan and contains motifs that even many Japanese have never seen.
Yuto Yamada is internationally recognized for his unique style and has worked with global brands. His Instagram has over 110,000 followers, and his photographs have been praised for their strong visual storytelling. At the back of the book, there are captions and descriptions in both Japanese and English.
