The placemats are handmade by Mofusa, a Japanese textile artisan who works from his small workshop overlooking Mount Fuji. Mofusa works with traditional Japanese dyeing and weaving techniques. All his colors are made from plant extracts and indigo and all motifs are hand-painted with inspiration from the surrounding Japanese nature.
