HEION - Signe Schmidt matcha cup/bowl in white and brown

Beautiful, hand-turned matcha bowl from Danish ceramicist Signe Schmidt. The bowl is created so that it is ideal for whisking your matcha tea in, but you can also use the bowl for other hot drinks - or just as a bowl.

The bowl stands on a small foot, which gives the bowl an elegant look.

Matcha bowls, which in Japanese are called 'chawan', are used to whisk matcha tea and enjoy the tea directly from the bowl. The bowl is hand-turned and hand-glazed.

Ceramicist Signe Schmidt creates her designs based on the Japandi style, which draws on both Japanese and Scandinavian expressions and traditions. Signe hand-turns all of her products in her own workshop.

What is special about Signe Schmidt's collection of cups and bowls is her sense of color and her work with glazes.

"HEION" is Japanese and means calm/peace, both in the mind and in the surroundings.

Color: White/gray with a faint tinge of blue. In addition
beige and brownish shades in the glaze. Matte glaze.
