Iwatemo - Cast Iron Kettle - VK
Beautiful cast iron kettle with a minimalist design.
The shape is modern, yet also features traditional Japanese aesthetics. The kettle is made with traditional craftsmanship from Iwate, which is known for the production of Nambu cast iron.
The surface has a characteristic sand texture, which develops a natural sheen over time as the kettle is used.
When water is boiled in the cast iron kettle, the taste also becomes rounder and softer.
We visited the manufacturer ourselves during our trip to the Tohoku region in Japan, where the kettle is produced using traditional techniques from Iwate. During the visit, we gained insight into the craftsmanship behind Nambu cast iron and personally selected the products we wanted to bring home.
This kettle is part of that selection – chosen for its simple design, its quality, and the long craft tradition it represents.
