Horii Matcha Uji Mukashi
An exclusive matcha from Horii, one of Kyoto's oldest and most renowned tea producers.
The tea is cultivated using the family's historic mother tree, which is over 600 years old and still used to create new tea plants. This heritage and expertise are reflected in a matcha of unusually high quality.
The matcha is ceremonial grade - the highest quality within Japanese matcha. The result is a finely ground green tea with a soft, round, and creamy taste, as well as a natural sweetness that makes it pleasant to drink without the bitterness often associated with lower qualities.
It can be enjoyed traditionally as usucha (pure matcha), but is also perfect for matcha lattes and other beverages.
Matcha naturally contains caffeine and the amino acid L-theanine, which is characteristic of green tea.
Store in a dark, dry place at room temperature. The powder is delivered in a protective bag for optimal freshness and shelf life. The matcha can be stored in the bag or poured directly into the tin after opening.
