Kōyō white light deep plate with brown dots
Kōyō means autumn leaves in Japanese and symbolizes the beauty of change – a thought reflected in this handmade, deep plate with its warm white (beige) glaze and fine brown speckles. The rounded shape and vibrant surface give the plate an organic and sensual expression.
The pattern is created by hand with a seashell – a traditional technique that Japanese ceramist Mr. Takashi has further developed and made his own. The technique gives each piece a natural and random expression, and the brown speckles arise during firing as part of the lively process.
The Kōyō series is custom-made for Sakura Copenhagen, and we are proud to be the sole distributor in Denmark of Mr. Takashi's unique ceramics. The series can be advantageously mixed and matched across glazes and textures for a lively, personal expression.
Please note! The ceramics are handmade and may therefore vary slightly in size.
