Kōyō cup with brown inlays
Kōyō means autumn leaves in Japanese and symbolizes the beauty of change – a sentiment beautifully reflected in this handmade cup with its light natural glaze and fine, brown speckles.
The cup is created by the Japanese ceramist Mr. Takashi, whom we met on our trip to Japan. In his small workshop on the outskirts of Kyoto, he handcrafts each individual cup, and the glaze is applied with great care. No two cups are exactly alike – each has its own unique expression and bears the mark of the handmade process.
The Kōyō series is custom-made for Sakura Copenhagen, and we are proud to be the sole retailer in Denmark of Mr. Takashi's unique ceramics. The series can be mixed and matched across glazes and textures for a lively, personal expression.
Please note! As the ceramics are handmade, they may vary slightly in size.
