SHIZUKU is a reinterpretation of the traditional, round form of the Japanese paper lantern designed by Tosshiyuki Tani. It is shaped like an equilateral octagon solely through heat treatment – completely without the use of a wire frame.

Shizuku means 'drop' in Japanese. The lantern originates from the city of Mito, known as one of Japan's most important areas for paper lantern production. The surface is treated with a special process that makes it resistant to water and stains, and the construction is made with environmentally friendly materials, including a PET resin frame. Where bamboo or metal wire is usually used for the frame, this one is cast in PET resin instead, allowing light to pass through the structure and create a light and organic silhouette.

The FUJI and TAMA pendants are also available in the same series.
