FUJI Pendant
FUJI is a reinterpretation of the traditional, round shape of the Japanese paper lantern designed by Tosshiyuki Tani. It is shaped as an equilateral octagon using only heat treatment - entirely without the use of a wire frame.
The name Fuji refers to the famous Japanese mountain. The lantern originates from the city of Mito, which is known as one of Japan's most important areas for the production of paper lanterns. The surface is treated with a special process that makes it resistant to water and stains, and the construction is made with environmentally friendly materials, including a PET resin frame. Where bamboo or metal wire is normally used for the frame, this one is instead molded in PET resin to allow light to pass through the structure and create a lighter silhouette.
The same series also includes the SHIZUKU and TAMA pendants.
