Martiny's Organic Hojicha 30g
Hojicha is a traditional Japanese green tea. It is lightly roasted, giving it a golden color and a round, roasted flavor with notes of nuts and caramel - without any bitterness. Martiny's organic hojicha is made from high-quality tea leaves that are carefully grown and roasted to bring out the tea's natural sweetness and deep aroma.
The roasting also means that the caffeine content is very low - only 3-8 mg per 100 ml, compared to coffee's 50-80 mg. Hojicha can therefore be enjoyed throughout the day - even in the evening - as a quiet moment.
Martiny's Hojicha is organic and of ceremonial grade.
Store in a dark, dry place at room temperature.
Has a shelf life of 2 years if unopened. Color and flavor may fade 3 months after opening.
How to do it:
Make your hojicha in a wide cup, such as a matcha cup, so you have more room to whisk the tea. Also use a bamboo spoon , a strainer , and a bamboo whisk for the traditional method.
- Heat water to about 80 degrees. Do not use boiling water as it can burn the delicate hojicha and give it a bitter taste.
- Add 1-2 g of hojicha to the cup. Use a sieve to sift the powder if necessary.
- Pour 0.5 dl of hot water into the cup and whisk the powder and water together with the bamboo whisk. Whisk in quick zig-zag movements for at least 20 seconds to create foam on the hojicha.
- Fill the cup with hot, frothed milk or add ice and cold milk for an iced version. Serve and enjoy your hojicha.
