Sing Tea: Milky Oolong 100 g
Milky Oolong is a semi-oxidized tea with a soft, creamy aroma and a round, mild flavour. The tea has delicate floral notes and a slight natural sweetness, providing a calm and pleasant tea experience.
It is one of the most popular teas – especially because it is also perfect for cold brew, where its soft and creamy flavour truly shines through.
The tea leaves are briefly oxidized and then gently dried to preserve the tea's fresh and light character. During processing, the leaves are carefully sun-dried, which enhances the tea's natural sweetness and gives it a silky smooth taste.
Milky Oolong is made from whole tea leaves and primarily comes from China and Taiwan, which are known for their strong traditions in oolong tea.
Preparation:
Milky oolong is brewed in a small preheated teapot. Be careful not to use too much tea.
The water should not boil vigorously for too long, as this removes oxygen from the water.
Use 1 tsp. of tea per cup.
Pour 80-85 degrees Celsius hot water over the leaves.
Steeping time: 3-4 minutes.
The leaves can be used 2-3 times.
Tips:
A small pot refers to, for example, a Japanese Tokoname teapot with an internal strainer. The advantage of a small pot is that you brew 1-2 cups at a time, then add more tempered water when you are ready for the next cup. This way, you utilize the leaves' potential by brewing multiple times, and you get the experience of a fresh cup of tea.
If you brew too much, the tea can also be stored in the refrigerator and enjoyed cold.
Store in a dry and cool place.
