Sekiun is named after the Japanese word for a cumulus cloud and is designed by Ryota Yokozeki. The shape was created intuitively by hand, inspired by the way a cloud naturally takes shape.
The lamp consists of two oval shades made of Japanese washi paper, which meet offset, creating an organic expression that changes depending on the angle from which the lamp is viewed. The washi paper softly filters the light, creating a warm and pleasant glow, like sunlight breaking through the clouds.
Sekiun is available in two variants of washi paper: a classic, finer and more uniform version, and Raw, where the paper's natural fibres and raw texture are more visible. When the lamp is lit, the character of the material beautifully emerges, giving each variant its own expression.
Sekiun works beautifully alone, for example, above the dining table, but can also be combined with several others at different heights for a more sculptural expression.
Designed by Ryota Yokozeki and handmade in Denmark from Japanese washi paper.
