Big koi fish blue
Traditional, hand-painted koinobori on thick Japanese washi paper.
The koi fish is hand-painted in a small paper factory in Japan - one of the few places where they still make them. A limited number of koi fish are made each year in connection with Children's Day on May 5th in Japan.
In Japanese culture, the koi fish symbolizes strength and perseverance. It is associated with the ability to swim against the current and the will to keep moving forward, even when there is resistance.
Koinobori are traditionally hung outdoors, where the wind fills the fish and brings it to life. They are put up as a wish that children may grow up healthy, strong, and brave.
A light and lively decoration with roots in Japanese tradition and a quiet reminder of inner strength.
Dimensions: approx. 82 x 33 cm (without the red string)
The small koi fish is available in red, blue, and black.
The large koi fish is available in blue and red.
