The 001 Stool by Fredrik Paulsen is simple, immediate and robust. Like the dining tables and chairs before it, Paulsen has created a comfortable, archetypal design. Although the stool is the smallest element in the 001 series, it does not compromise on the powerful appearance that characterizes the other furniture in the series. The generous dimensions of the wood are fully utilized and create a solid and reliable piece of furniture. Yet 001 is light enough to be easily moved around - because Paulsen clearly wanted to design a practical seating area for everyday use.

Characteristic of the wood - Pine becomes more beautiful with age. The colors mature and take on a deeper glow. Heartwood and sapwood age at different rates, highlighting the natural grain patterns of the wood. After a few years, the pine in each stool will develop a rich and complex honey-colored tone.

Pine is a soft wood and will eventually develop marks and impressions. But don't see them as flaws - embrace them. They are signs of life and of furniture that has been used and loved. Pine is not life-resistant. It is proof of life.
